This is
a new CD by some good friends in Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada, Marlin Ramazzini and Fito Garcia. The CD was produced
by my good frind Jose M. Sanchez, and features the talented
Marlin on vocals. Also featured are Jose on timbales and
drums, Pancho Amat, the great Cuban tresero, my good friend
Lali on percussion, and on bass Fito Garcia and my good
friend Chispa from La Habana, Cuba. Each cut on this CD
swings with a real Cuban flavor. Marlin's vocals are sultry
and sweet. Sabrosa!!

Cuarto Espacio

CD - $14.98
Cuarto Espacio are four extravagantly
talented Cuban virtuosos, representing modern Cuban jazz
at its most brilliant. This CD features Jimmy Branly, who
at 24 is already considered to be one of Cuba's greatest
drummers. Together with Omar Hernandez (bass), Ernan-Lopez
Nussa (piano) and Fernando Calveiro (guitar), Cuarto Espacio
has reinvented what is called fusion and assigned it new
dimensions. Order this essential CD here.

Lazaro Ros
CD - $14.98
Lazaro Ros is Cuba's foremost
akpwon, singer of the ceremonial songs from the Afro-Cuban
tradition which invoke the orishas, deities from the Yoruban
pantheon. As a founder of Cuba's famed Conjunto Folklorico
Nacional and great innovator and teacher, Lazaro is one
of Cuba's national treasures and a principal preserver of
African ways on the island of Cuba.
The rhythms and melodies
of this sacred tradition, brought from Africa and practiced
in Cuba to this day, are present in all forms of Latin popular
music and jazz. Here they are performed in their purest
and most profound form by Olorun, Lazaro's group of drummers
and singers from his hometown of Guanabacoa, a group of
young people whom the master has cultivated and taught in
the interest of preserving the tradition of his ancestors.
