Jazz Coordination
Let's continue our study of coordination. Coordination is one of the cornerstones of playing drums. The ability to perform different rhythms with each limb is most important within the art of playing drums.
The rhythm I've chosen here comes from, yes..., a Cuban rhythmic source. This source has inspired drummers throughout the years. I hope you find it enjoyable and
inspiring as well. The Ride Cymbal is playing the jazz pattern. You're orchestrating the main rhythm between snare and bass.
What does not appear in these patterns in the hi hat played with the foot. You can choose to play the HH on 2 and 4, all four quarter notes, the last note in each triplet, etc. But please do add the hi hat with your foot for maximum four way coordination.
